Multi-Storey Self-Storage Facility — Complete Fit-out

The brief

Supply and install the full door package: 600+ individual storage unit doors in brand yellow, fire-rated doors between compartments to BS 9999 standards, customer-facing aluminium reception shopfronts, and the main glazed entrance. Schedule had to coordinate with the main contractor's internal partitioning programme without holding up other trades.

Our approach

We split the works into three phases timed to follow the main contractor's partition installation. Phase 1: ground floor entrance shopfront and reception glazing to allow site management to occupy. Phase 2: fire compartmentation doors between unit blocks on all three floors. Phase 3: individual storage unit doors — the bulk of the labour, installed across 60+ working days with a four-installer team. All steel doors were powder-coated to the operator's specified RAL yellow at our supplier's coating line.

Outcomes

• 600+ doors installed within the 14-week programme
• Full fire certification supplied to building control
• Zero defects reported during the post-completion snagging visit
• Facility opened to customers on the scheduled handover date
