Bay Window Installation

Replacement bay windows that preserve architectural character and add living space

Coverage: UK-wide
Warranty: 10 years insurance-backed
Accreditation: FENSA registered

Bay windows are an architectural feature that defines many British homes — projecting from the front elevation, adding interior light and floor space, and creating the classic Victorian/Edwardian streetscape. Replacement bay windows are technically demanding because they involve structural lintel reinforcement, often a new flat-roof bay top, and precise mitred corner work. S&K Glazing replaces bay windows of all configurations — square bays, splayed bays, bow windows, and full-height bays — typically in 1-2 days.

Why choose our bay window installation

  • Specialist structural assessment included — we calculate lintel requirements and bay-roof loadings
  • Mitred or post-and-beam corner construction options to match your original
  • Insulated bay-roof rebuilding included where the existing roof has failed
  • uPVC, aluminium, or hardwood timber — heritage-look options for period properties
  • Reclaims energy efficiency — old single-glazed bays are typically the worst thermal performers in any home

Our process

From survey to installation in 4 steps

01

Structural survey

We assess the existing bay framework, identify load-bearing elements, check for movement or settlement, and confirm whether structural reinforcement is required.

02

Design & quotation

We produce design drawings showing the new bay configuration, corner detailing, glass specification, and roof rebuilding if needed. Fixed-price quote within 48 hours.

03

Manufacture

Bay windows are manufactured as a coordinated set — corner posts, mullions, and glazing all factory-prepared. Lead time 4-6 weeks.

04

Site installation

Installation typically takes 1-2 days. We temporarily prop the lintel during removal of the old bay, install the new structure, and weather-seal in a single day to prevent water ingress.
