Sliding patio doors offer huge glazed openings with the slimmest possible frames — ideal where bifolds would block too much view when stacked. S&K Glazing installs Schüco, Smart Systems and Reynaers aluminium slimline sliders, plus heavy-duty lift-and-slide systems with panels up to 3m wide and 3.2m tall.

Schüco ASE 60 or 80, Smart Systems Visoglide Plus, or Reynaers HiFinity — lead times 6-8 weeks.

Sliding doors with 200kg+ panels require precision installation, level thresholds and structural lintels above. Our team has 10+ years specialist experience.

We adjust rollers, weatherseals and locking points to ensure effortless operation, then hand over with maintenance guide and warranty.

FAQs

Sliding Doors questions, answered

Bifolds open more of the wall (up to 90%) but stack as panels at the side. Sliders give 50% maximum opening but offer the slimmest sightlines and largest single panes when closed. Sliders are better for views; bifolds for full opening.
Large sliding panels can weigh 200-400kg. Lift-and-slide mechanisms lift the panel off the seal slightly for friction-free movement — making a 400kg door feel as light as 20kg.
Yes — once unlocked and lifted off the seal, they slide freely and can be parked open. The lift mechanism re-engages when you slide back to the closed position.
Yes — multi-point hook locks engage automatically when the panel is closed and the handle dropped. PAS 24 rated as standard.
Our largest residential systems handle panels up to 3.2m tall × 3m wide. For larger openings we configure multi-panel pocket-sliding (panels disappear into the wall) or fixed-and-slide combinations.
