Tilt and Turn Windows

European-style dual-action windows — tilt inward for ventilation, swing fully open for cleaning

Coverage: UK-wide
Warranty: 10 years insurance-backed
Accreditation: FENSA registered

Tilt and turn windows offer two opening modes from a single handle. Turn the handle 90° and the window tilts inward at the top for secure ventilation. Turn 180° and the full sash swings inward for maximum opening and easy cleaning from inside. Popular on apartment blocks, hotels, and modern homes — particularly useful at upper floors where outward-opening casements are impractical. S&K Glazing supplies tilt and turn windows in uPVC, aluminium, and hardwood timber across the UK.

Why choose our tilt and turn windows

  • Two opening positions from one handle — ventilation or full clean
  • Cleans from inside — essential for upper-floor flats and hotels
  • Multi-point locking with security shoot-bolts at top, bottom, and lock side
  • Suits floor-to-ceiling glazing and large feature windows
  • Egress-compliant for fire escape requirements when fully opened

FAQs

Tilt and Turn Windows questions, answered

Yes — multi-point locking gear engages at 4-8 points around the frame. Higher security than standard casement when locked.
Excellent — cleaning from inside removes the need for external access, which is impossible above the ground floor in most apartment buildings.
Less commonly chosen for traditional period homes (sash and casement are more authentic) but tilt and turn works well in 1930s-onwards properties and modern conversions.
uPVC tilt and turn from £550-£900 per window. Aluminium £900-£1,400. Timber £1,200-£1,900.
Yes — applied or integral Georgian bars are available, though most tilt and turn installations are specified clean-glazed for a modern look.
