EMA's Sound Insulation Grant Scheme was introduced in 2002 and is one of the most generous airport noise insulation programmes in the UK. Grants are zoned: Zone A (£3,000), Zone B (£5,000), Zone C (£10,000), and Zone D where the airport will offer to purchase your home outright. The scheme reopened in April 2025 to residents who received their original grant more than 20 years ago - meaning many homes can re-apply for fresh funding.
S&K Glazing is not an officially appointed installer for the East Midlands Airport Sound Insulation Grant Scheme — that scheme uses its own appointed installers. Our role is to help you in three ways: (1) free eligibility check — tell us your postcode and we'll confirm whether you fall inside the scheme boundary; (2) guidance on how to apply — we explain the application process, what documents you need, and what to expect; (3) private installation for work the scheme doesn't fund — properties outside the boundary, premium acoustic upgrades (Rw 48-52dB triple glazing) beyond the standard spec, non-habitable rooms the scheme excludes, and commercial premises. If you're eligible for funded works, we'll point you to the official route. If you're not — or you want better than the scheme provides — we're ready to quote.

Yes - from 1 April 2025, EMA reset the grant value 20 years after any previous grant. If your original grant was before April 2005, you're eligible to reapply at the current value.
Modern aircraft are quieter, so today's actual noise footprint is smaller. EMA has kept the boundary at the larger 2001 size to maintain support for the maximum number of households.
Post-2002 properties are excluded from SIGS - newer planning permissions should have included noise insulation requirements. Private acoustic glazing is the alternative.
EMA uses its own managing agent and installers. We're not part of the official delivery, but we provide premium upgrades, out-of-boundary installations, and commercial work.
