Heathrow's Quieter Neighbourhoods Support is the most generous airport noise insulation scheme in the UK. Around 20,000 homes are eligible under the 2025-2028 phase one rollout. Heathrow funds 100% of eligible insulation costs after a free independent survey - including homes that had earlier basic measures.
S&K Glazing is not an officially appointed installer for the Quieter Neighbourhoods Support - Residential Insulation Scheme — that scheme uses its own appointed installers. Our role is to help you in three ways: (1) free eligibility check — tell us your postcode and we'll confirm whether you fall inside the scheme boundary; (2) guidance on how to apply — we explain the application process, what documents you need, and what to expect; (3) private installation for work the scheme doesn't fund — properties outside the boundary, premium acoustic upgrades (Rw 48-52dB triple glazing) beyond the standard spec, non-habitable rooms the scheme excludes, and commercial premises. If you're eligible for funded works, we'll point you to the official route. If you're not — or you want better than the scheme provides — we're ready to quote.
The Quieter Neighbourhoods Support covers up to 100% of eligible insulation costs identified by Heathrow's independent surveyor. Costs can exceed £20,000 per home depending on the property and the works recommended.
Kier Places is Heathrow's appointed contractor for the current 2025-2028 rollout. They handle the survey and installation directly. S&K Glazing is not part of the official scheme but can install premium acoustic glazing for properties outside the boundary or for owners wanting better specifications.
The eligibility map is based on a composite boundary covering parts of TW (Hounslow, Twickenham, Feltham, Bedfont), UB (Hayes, Hillingdon, Harmondsworth, Sipson), SL (Slough, Datchet, Colnbrook) and KT (Kingston-area) postcodes nearest the airport. The exact boundary changes annually.
Not from the Heathrow scheme, but you can install private acoustic glazing. S&K specialises in this - typically Rw 38-42dB reduction for standard acoustic specifications, up to 52dB for premium triple-glazed asymmetric units.
Yes - once Kier completes the scheme works, you can pay privately for upgrades. Common upgrades include thicker laminated acoustic glass, premium triple glazing, or upgrading the secondary glazing system.
Free survey, fixed-price quotes, no pressure sales. Call us, message on WhatsApp, or fill in the form — we typically respond within an hour during working days.
