How S&K Glazing can help with the Stansted Airport scheme

S&K Glazing is not an officially appointed installer for the London Stansted Sound Insulation Grant Scheme — that scheme uses its own appointed installers. Our role is to help you in three ways: (1) free eligibility check — tell us your postcode and we'll confirm whether you fall inside the scheme boundary; (2) guidance on how to apply — we explain the application process, what documents you need, and what to expect; (3) private installation for work the scheme doesn't fund — properties outside the boundary, premium acoustic upgrades (Rw 48-52dB triple glazing) beyond the standard spec, non-habitable rooms the scheme excludes, and commercial premises. If you're eligible for funded works, we'll point you to the official route. If you're not — or you want better than the scheme provides — we're ready to quote.

Frequently asked questions

What does Stansted's scheme cover?

Habitable rooms in residential properties within the SIGS boundary - bedrooms, dining rooms, living rooms, kitchen-diners. Bathrooms, toilets, hallways, and utility rooms are excluded.

How do I apply for Stansted's noise insulation grant?

Use the online application form on stanstedairport.com. Eligibility is checked against the published scheme boundary by postcode. Zone D properties also eligible for relocation assistance.

Can I do the works in stages?

Yes - Stansted's SIGS allows phased works with separate payment claims as each stage completes, up to the maximum grant amount for your zone.

What if my property is outside Stansted's boundary?

Private acoustic glazing - we typically install Rw 38-42dB acoustic double glazing or Rw 48-52dB premium triple glazing for Bishop's Stortford / CM postcode properties.
